   •  L-3 Nova announced that it has begun shipments of its breakthrough Cluster Gateway product. With the new product and its overarching Clustering Technology, NovaRoam networks have virtually unlimited scale with the ability to support wide-area deployments and even connect regionally-separated locations in a peer-to-peer mobile mesh network.

   •  Elmont, NY, a Long Island suburb of New York City, has chosen the NovaRoam EH900 Mobile Router for a pilot mobile data network deployment for its fire department. The pilot, being deployed by DECOM Computer Solutions of West Babylon, NY, will pair DECOM's computer hardware and FireMaster software with NovaRoam's long-range mobile mesh networking solution to bring real-time, actionable, mission-critical data inside the fire apparatus.

   •  MIAMI, FL, NOVEMBER 2, 2006 - Mobile Enterprise Magazine announced that Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's Racing team has been awarded an Honorable Mention "Mobilizer Award" for staying Ahead of the Curve with its unique wireless tire inventory tracking system anchored by NovaRoam Mobile Routers. The NovaRoams provide robust long-range data links for tire inventory information that is scanned from each individual tire using RFID technology. Goodyear's deployment was unique in its successful combination of complementary wireless technologies, including proprietary spread spectrum (NovaRoam), RFID, and Wi-Fi.

   •  Nova Engineering's Director of Products, Michael Rauf, spoke at the Remote Monitoring & Networking 2006 Conference in Long Beach, California, November 9. Rauf's presentation focused on long-range mesh networking applications.

   •  On October 25, 2006, L-3 Communications finalized its acquisition of Nova Engineering, Inc. Nova is now a wholly-owned division of L-3, officially called L-3 Communications Nova Engineering.

   •  Phelps Dodge Mining Company has installed NovaRoam Mobile Routers in a remote SCADA application. The long-range mesh network installed in the southwest provides Phelps Dodge with a powerful remote monitoring capability for its mining operations.

   •  NovaRoam has again found its way onto the race track. This time, with Bosch Motorsport of Germany. Bosch recently deployed NovaRoams at a local race track to create a mobile ad hoc network in a high-speed environment. The network is used to relay in-car telemetry data to a fixed location for aggregation and analysis.

   •  CINCINNATI, OHIO, AUGUST 7, 2006 – Nova Engineering, Inc. announces the development of NovaRoam Clustering Technology™, which enables NovaRoam® mobile mesh networks to span tens, or even hundreds, of miles. The unique NovaRoam Clustering Technology allows customers to use current-generation NovaRoam Mobile Router products (i.e. EH900, ED900, TD250) in conjunction with a new gateway networking device to interface with backhaul networks.

   • A Massachusetts police department has chosen the NovaRoam EH900 to provide wireless data communications for its officers in the field. The department will install a NovaRoam EH900 in each squad car to provide the wireless networking link necessary to run IP-based client-server applications, including records management software and computer aided dispatch software, centrally hosted at the police station. The department will take advantage of NovaRoam's built-in mobile mesh networking technology in addition to installing several fixed repeater locations to provide consistent RF coverage.

   • Nova Engineering announced the release of its new Unidirectional Link Detection and Avoidance (ULDA) feature for NovaRoam. This latest advancement to the NovaRoam product line will lead to improved link reliability. ULDA is inherent in all new NovaRoam models, and can be downloaded as part of firmware version v3.10 for fielded units.
